Here’s what our guests’ have said about Piglets’ breakfasts…
Breakfast at Piglets (included with your room booking)
We don’t believe that asking guests what they would like for breakfast the night before is the right thing to do, especially if they have just eaten their evening meal!
So to ensure everyone receives a relaxing and attentive breakfast cooked fresh to order we offer reserved half hourly slots from 8:00 to 10:00 daily – if you would like a particular time, do reserve a slot when booking or let us know on arrival.
Of course for those on business or needing to be away at a particular time, we will happily take orders the night before so that we do not delay you getting away. Please be sure to request a particular time slot for breakfast either on booking or when you arrive if you have an appointment to keep.
ALLERGIES: Please inform us if you have any allergies or dislikes so we can give you information about ingredients to allow you to make an informed choice.
Our menu is marked ‘V’ for vegetarian, ‘Vg’ for vegan and ‘GF’ for gluten free.
If you don’t see it, we might have it or be able to get it in for you, so please ask.

COMPLIMENTARY FRENCH PASTRY BASKET
From Brittany, northern France we have a delicious selection of mini croissants, chocolate and fruit pastries served piping hot from the oven to get your appetite kick started!

COMPLIMENTARY BLOODY, VIRGIN MARY, RED SNAPPER or SCREWDRIVER
To add a spicy zing to your morning and really blow the cobwebs away, we have either a shot of Bloody Mary (Vodka based), Red Snapper (Gin based), Virgin Mary (no alcohol) or a Screwdriver (Vodka & fresh orange juice) for you to enjoy with your pastries with our compliments.

BUFFET
While you wait for your breakfast to be cooked please visit the buffet table where you will find fresh juices, yoghurt, homemade fruit compote, a variety of nuts and seeds, cereals and our homemade granola and local honey. Homemade marmalade and a variety of jams are available on request.

Great Rift breakfast blend (including a de-caff option), Earl Grey, Green, Chamomile or Peppermint

FRESH COFFEE
We offer a choice of cafetière (Americano), Espresso, Cappuccino or Latte. De-caff is available if preferred.

CHRISSIE's HOT CHOC
Fairtrade sweet Criollo cocoa beans from Sao Tome island off West Africa are used to make Chrissie's indulgent hot chocolate along with frothy milk topped off with whipped cream, a sprinkle of chocolate powder and a marshmallow - what's not to like?

PORRIDGE
Made with premium oats and milk but we are happy to make it with gluten free oats and oat milk (V and GF). Warm milk served on the side.

Seasonal fresh fruit salad made to order.

Local sourdough toast with ripe avocado and poached Piglet egg (V)

Two slices of farmhouse white loaf, dipped in beaten Piglets' eggs and fried, fruit, maple syrup, icing sugar and local crispy smoked streaky bacon and whipped cream to finish!

PIGLETS FULL ENGLISH
Two Piglets' eggs, award winning local sausage, bacon and black pudding, slow roasted tomatoes, thyme pan-fried mushrooms, fried bread, baked beans & sautéed farm potatoes. Substitute your sausage for a gluten free version (GF)

VEGETARIAN / VEGAN FULL ENGLISH (V)
Vegetarian 'sausage' & 'bacon', mushrooms, sautéed potatoes, slow-roasted tomatoes & wilted spinach. Add an egg if you are vegetarian or substitute baked beans for spinach if preferred

A two or three Piglet egg omelette with a choice of mushrooms, ham, cheese, onion, chilli, tomatoes and chorizo - you come up with the combination and we’ll cook it for you!

ARBROATH SMOKIES (please order the night before)
Direct from Arbroath, Scotland, these delicious haddocks are traditionally hot smoked in whisky barrels as they have been since the late 1800s. Try one with a poached Piglet egg, bacon or both!
NB These are NOT kippers! They do not smell like them, they do not stay with you all day, nor do they have masses of bones and they are haddock, not herring.
